Don’t Put those Winter Dog Coats Away Yet
I foolishly talked myself into believing winter was just about over. I realized how truly delusional I was as spent four hours shoveling twelve inches of snow off my driveway and that was just to get a path just wide enough for my car to get out. I will have to go out again tomorrow and shovel again.
I was hoping I would not have to bring out the winter dog jackets and dog booties again this season. Unfortunately, the temperature has dropped into the teens after the big snow storm so it is back to winter weather gear for me and the dogs. I guess I can live with it though, because my dogs really do enjoy the snow(a lot more than I do).

Fleece Dog Coats For Function and Style

Here is something a lot of people don’t think about when getting a puppy. If you live in an area that has cold harsh winters, consider getting your puppy a fleece dog coat and maybe even a pair of winter dog booties.
They are low to the ground and have less body mass and your puppies fur is not as thick as it will be as an adult and they will get cold easier and faster than an adult. Dog coats come in a wide variety of styles. You will want to make sure that the dog coat you pick out is washable, easy to get on and off and that it covers the vulnerable underside of your dog. That is where they loose the most heat from. A pair of winter dog booties will prevent your puppy from freezing and getting little balls of ice and snow from getting caught between the pads of their paws.
